If Billy Reid wants to venture into lifestyle-brand territory, this isn't a bad way to start.

On Tuesday, the designer started selling a kitchen apron he created with his fellow Southerner and chef John Besh. (The apron commemorates Besh's latest book, Big Besh Easy: 101 Home Cooked New Orleans Recipes, which is now also on sale.)

The $95 apron looks like a pair of jeans given new life: It's reinforced with copper rivets and even has a leather patch you'll find on the waistband of the brand's denim. Flip it over and you'll find the instructions for making a Sazerac sewn into the interior, along with the Besh adage "Every great recipe begins with a great drink."

Interested shoppers will find the apron on Reid's website and in all of his stores, as well as on Besh's website and in all 12 of his restaurants.
